A new beginning
Any official or unofficial body that takes on a governing or advisory role also takes on the onus of being impartial. While the UN came in for a lot of criticism due to its alleged leanings towards more powerful nations, the same can come to pass in any other official body too. Particularly where nations are involved, the role changes drastically from that of, say, family solicitors, whose work is more or less defined and along a certain path. There is no straying from the established path.
On the other hand the role of the unofficial Non Aligned Movement is a lot more diverse. While the primary role is that of being advisory, there are a lot of other roles that come into the picture albeit subtly. This is where extreme care should be exercised to be impartial while keeping the interests of others too in mind. A broader framework should be followed at all times lest history repeats itself.

The frame work could extend from economic to social to cultural which in a way is quite comprehensive. It is not an easy task to be impartial and take a hard decision expecting it to be followed to the letter. For such a thing, the body should establish itself as one that can be depended on and trusted without having any ulterior motives in its decisions. Everything should be open to foster a sense of transparency and which in turn cultivates trust. Closer cooperation between the member countries must always be encouraged to foster a sense of belonging and participation. It is easy to become a puppet in the hands of powers that be and develop a leaning to what may not be well received by the other members. It then proves to be what it is meant to be - an august body that is impartial in its functioning.
