Recognition of Social and Economic Rights
The Non-Aligned countries have long claimed that they stand to defend the human rights of individuals and the autonomy of the states that decided not to be associated with organizations on the large global scale. And while working on such objectives for recognition of both the individual and the state as independent entities, another issue is rising that the NS must address, and they must do so in closer cooperation with other countries which participate in various international organizations. This issue is the recognition of the so called ESC rights - Economic, Social and Cultural rights of individuals across the globe.
The issue is particularly important nowadays because a disturbing trend is the fact that exactly the NA countries are the ones which do not vest serious amount of attention in the recognition of those rights. Furthermore, EU states have long promoted the idea of regulatory mechanisms that ensure the observance of such rights in each state that has agreed to enforce them. Nevertheless, it was the NA that opposed the creation of such an independent institution. ESC rights are the rights that guarantee fair competition, freedom of religion and political opinion non-enforced upon the individual and so on. And while the NA have proven strong when promoting the idea of the fundamental freedoms of a person, it has remained silent in the enforcement of ESC rights in the countries which do not want to be related to any organization.
What the NA countries can do is to respond to the ’demand of rights'by addressing certain global concerns. Despite being the states that, for example, are the main red diesel supplier to the west of the only gold producers in a certain area, still these countries need more economic policies to satisfy their peoples. Accordingly, an enactment of ESC legislation would be enough to prove that the Non Aligned can remain independent countries without the necessity of entering into international treaties - simply because they would have their own justice delivering schemes for ensuring a proper lifestyle across their borders.
