Aligned, Non-Aligned?

Aligned, Non-Aligned?

Sometimes, it makes one wonder if the Non Aligned Movement, set up to break the yoke of imperialism is of any use today. It claims to stand for the sovereignty of countries and their ability to cope with their own internal affairs without any external influence.

However, when you consider the uninvited intervention, forcibly often, in the affairs of a country in the name of democracy, you wonder if it’s all talk and no bite. Worse, consider the possibility of it actually being a set up to pave the way for interference by curbing what needs to be done by a country and its citizens. I was looking for skins compression shorts when I came across an article that questioned the effectiveness of the distinguished body. Its funny how Google search works at times, you search for something related to body and it brings up results regarding the governing body of non aligned movement.

It makes me wonder if the Non Aligned Movement is just a silent spectator in the hands of powers that be. It seems to silently justify the acts of interference undertaken by western coalition forces. Consider Libya where the people are fighting for a democracy they feel should rightfully govern them. The Libyan forces are massacring innocent civilians on the orders of an obsessed dictator who refuses to let go of power. And the French, American and British seem to be silently condoning the attacks with their half-hearted protests.

In fact, countering terrorism with militarization has a very counterproductive effect; it actually aids what was set to be destroyed with military might as people feel compelled to join the underdog. Its ideals are then considered lofty and well worth fighting for.
