Do the NA Win the Game?

The non-aligned countries have long been saying that they need no assistance from other institutions and organizations. However, is that a win strategy and has the time come for some of them to reconsider. An example under this review would be Serbia - an European Balkan country that could have easily been a part of the EU but for its membership and key role in the governance of the NA.

Has Serbia won from not joining any organizations? This is a question the answer of which is negative. The country is not in the focus of the news around the world and little is known about its current financial condition and stage of economic development. However, it is clear that the country’s economy is shrinking, as any other under the financial recession. The problem that they are experiencing is related to deficit and reduced abilities of the domestic economy to perform properly and in accordance with the international standards.

But this is not the only point. Serbia receives no foreign funds and has no agreements so this automatically makes it a bad investment market for people who would target the Balkans as a potential place for conducting and developing business. In the EU even the accidents at work allow a person to address the Union on proper compensation and future measures. However, in Serbia this is impossible and the only regulatory body is the institutions of the state itself. This often leads to injustice, unregulated and corrupted officials and individual disturbances around the population.

So the answer might be straightforward - that despite their strong will and desire to bring peace and recognition of the individual, the NA might have actually suffered from too many restraints on international relations.
